The Power of Digital and Green Skills: Shaping an Inclusive, Innovative and Sustainable Future

 

The NewEcoSmart project was recently featured in an inspiring online event dedicated to exploring how digital and green skills can drive innovation, inclusion, and sustainability. This session took place on 27th March as part of the All Digital Weeks initiative, hosted by All Digital.

The event gathered experts from lifelong learning, Vocational Education and Training, business sectors and rural development to discuss the challenges, solutions and opportunities in the green and digital transition. Participants shared valuable insights on the role of education, training and innovative projects in equipping individuals and businesses with the skills needed for a sustainable future.

The event featured insights from several innovative projects that are contributing to the green and digital transition across Europe:

  • Just4All – Innovative training tools for promoting just transition Presented by Angeliki Giannakopoulou, Policy and Projects Coordinator, EAEA, this initiative focuses on lifelong learning and adult education to ensure fair and inclusive access to green and digital upskilling opportunities.
  • Green at You – Social Innovations for Inclusive Green and Digital Jobs Selin Tagmat, Head of European Communications, All Digital, highlighted how VET programmes can help create pathways to green and digital employment, particularly for vulnerable groups.
  • Digital4Sustainability – Empowering the European Workforce for the Sustainable Digital Transition

Sophie Franceschini, Project Manager at Digital SME Alliance, discussed how businesses and professionals can be equipped with the necessary skills to navigate and contribute to a greener digital future.

From our side, our coordinator, Almudena Muñoz, took the opportunity of presenting NweEcoSmart and how the project is fostering sustainable and digital innovation in rural areas, supporting SMEs and professionals to adapt to the evolving economic landscape.

The event concluded with an engaging discussion where participants shared insights, exchanged ideas and explored collaboration opportunities to further drive the digital and green transition across sectors.
