The NewEcoSmart project was represented at Webinar 7: Strategic Partnerships for a Just Transition, organised by the European Association for the Education of Adults (EAEA) as part of the Just4All project. Carina Dantas, from SHINE 2Europe, one of the NewEcoSmart project’s partners, participated as a speaker at this event, discussing the importance of strategic partnerships in ensuring that adult education remains a priority in the context of a Just Transition.
During the debate, the experience of the NewEcoSmart project was presented as a concrete example of collaboration across different levels – local, national, transnational, and international – which complement each other in promoting innovative and sustainable solutions. NewEcoSmart aims to empower adults aged 45 and over, particularly in rural areas, to face the challenges of the ecological and digital transitions by enhancing their skills and exploring new opportunities in the environmental sector. The project also encourages social entrepreneurship, fostering circular and socially responsible business models.
The session, moderated by Davide Muraro and chaired by Angeliki Giannakopoulou, featured high-level experts, including Andrea Casamenti and Majda Richer, who shared concrete examples of successful partnerships. The panel emphasised how cooperation between policymakers, educators, and community organisations can amplify the impact of initiatives, fostering sustainable and inclusive change.
The participation of the NewEcoSmart project in this debate reinforces its commitment to the development of inclusive territories and communities through research and social innovation, contributing to a more equitable and sustainable society.
